Inaugural RDI Address given by the incoming Master of the Faculty, Chris Wise who is widely regarded as one of the best and most creative engineering designers of his generation.

Chris will reflect on creative life in a world released from the tyranny of mathematics by the computer. He will discuss how designers think today, how they engage with society through their work, and how engineers, in particular, can release their potential to design solutions for climate change, population growth, increasing wealth and an ageing population.

He will also touch upon 21st century design education, Schumpeters technological waves, the convergence of design disciplines, and the Creative Economy.

Chaired by Matthew Taylor, RSA Chief Executive

The Inaugural RDI Address will be followed by RDI Diploma Presentation to new Royal Designers and Honorary Royal Designers for 2007 and the RSA Bicentenary Medal Presentation for 2007.
