Ettrick

San Francisco's Ettrick is a self-destructive free jazz/black metal assault featuring two multi-instrumentalists rotating through every permutation of their drum and sax duo. Jacob Felix Heule and Jay Korber explore the extreme sounds that can be wrenched from their instruments through brute force – screaming through saxophones, throwing drums and other such impolite extended techniques. The doubled instrumentation provides a situation to explore playing contrasting and complimentary styles on like instruments.

“...a bludgeoning amalgam of black metal and skronk sure to summon the apocalypse... an excruciating free jazz that feels like being trapped in a metal shed during a thunderstorm.” -- San Francisco Bay Guardian

The New Flesh

Evoking equal parts disgust and curiosity, the music of The New Flesh reflects the restlessness and frustration of its members: Jason Donnells, Dan Propert, and Rick Weaver (Human Host, ex Flowers in The Attic). Their progressive punk sound evolves out of the texture of 60s psychedelia, the discordance of 70s art punk, the energy of 80s west coast hardcore, and the sleaze of 90s noise rock. Jason's pounding bass and Rick's cyclonic drums provide a framework for Dan's somnambulistic guitar work. Always bringing a high energy, devastating live show, The New Flesh are a force to be reckoned with.

The New Flesh formed in the fall of 2002. Since then, they have embarked on over half a dozen tours and shared the stage with national acts such as the Cheater Slicks, Heroine Sheiks, Prurient, Pearls & Brass, Wolf Eyes, VAZ, Nautical Almanac, Dead Meadow, Bardo Pond, Friends Forever, & Temple of Bon Matin.

They have recorded a steady stream of material which can be found on numerous independent labels including Human Conduct (co-operated by Rick Weaver), Hospital Productions (NYC), Cephia's Treat (FL), MT6 & Hit-Dat (Baltimore), McCarthyism (D.C.), Imvated (Belgium), and Real Cide Youth (OH). In 2004, The New Flesh was recognized as the "Best Band" in Baltimore's Citypaper. Currently, The New Flesh is writing their follow-up to their debut album Parasite! in between booking and performing around the US.

Sergio Iglesias & the Latin Love Machine
Armed with a toilet plunger and a rotating band of musicians, Sergio Iglesias is here to ruin the party. Maybe you've seen Sergio Iglesias and Los Magnificos (Weasel Walter, Steve Touchton, Jake Lammert, Mariachi Tequila) fill the Hemlock Tavern with a joyful, festive cacophony. Or caught Sergio Iglesias and Los Bulliciosos
(Touchton, Liz Albee, Eri Ishiyama, and M.C. Alfonso) nearly destroy the City College of San Francisco campus. If you were lucky, you might've seen Iglesias with his signature plunger and a tape player
perform solo in and outside the Civic Center, Powell, and Montgomery BART stations, wailing atop trash cans, plunging the ground, and bewildering tourists and locals alike. But even if you did see all these shows, you still never know what to expect. Expect to be surprised.
