In 2005, Elayne Grossbard curated Sephardic Horizons, an exhibition drawn from the extensive collection of ceremonial and decorative art at the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley. The exhibition included Torah ornaments, amulets, jewelry, and costumes, books, manuscripts, and photographs that illustrated the enduring themes in Sephardic history: preserving tradition while absorbing new influences, valuing secular as well as religious knowledge, and engaging in public service and community. Elayne will recreate the exhibition with her talk and visual presentation.
