Gary Haugen, president and CEO of International Justice Mission, and Sharon Cohn, IJM’s senior vice president of interventions, will describe the organization’s efforts to rescue victims trapped by forced labor slavery, illegal detention, sex trafficking and torture around the globe. Attendees will hear specific victim stories of oppression and rescue and will see what locals are doing about the work of justice. Many DC-area lawyers, politicians and community leaders have been involved with IJM’s work through volunteer advocacy both in the US and overseas.

Musical entertainment for the event will be provided by Grammy Award winning band Jars of Clay. Deirdre Modesti will serve as the event chairperson, and has mobilized local community leaders in order to raise funds to help the organization rescue more victims of oppression.

Four United States Senators will serve as Honorary Chairpersons for the benefit - Tom Harkin (D-IA), Tom Coburn (R-OK), Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Sam Brownback (R-KS.) The event will feature an exhibit timeline of IJM’s history.

For more information about these benefit events, visit www.ijm.org and click on the “IJM Benefit Dinners” banner. To book an interview, please contact [email protected]. The event is closed to media.
