600 Fourth Avenue
Seattle, Washington

The musical styles of Cuban son, Dominican merengue, cumbia, and Venezuelan parranda played so authentically the music smells of sweet rum, black beans and plantains. MangoSon plays music as you might have heard it on street corners in the coastal cities of Latin America before the onslaught of keyboards and electric guitars. MangoSon performs rhythms carried to the New World in the songs of African slaves, beats rooted in the verses of Spanish and Portuguese peasants, and tunes from the squeeze boxes of homesick sailors. Presented in partnership with the Latino City Employees Group.

The event is part of Seattle Presents, a year-round series of free performances at City Hall presented by the Mayor's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.
