The one-of-a-kind Seattle Cold Readers presents exclusive, unabridged, non-rehearsed audition-caliber readings of unpublished original scripts and screenplays.

Performances involve three genres of artists: writers, actors and variety performers.

So many Seattle theatre-goers have been enjoying their out-of-the-box, edgy reality theatre, the Seattle Cold Readers has had to expand to a larger venue just to accommodate standing-room-only audiences. Excerpts of three scripts per performance are selected for their originality and performed by real actors, musicians and dancers. Seattle Cold Readers provides a venue for writers and performers to showcase their individual talents. Several actors have already been cast for film projects just by being observed by local directors sitting in the audience during shows.

Local playwright Debra Froula commented, "The actors really brought my characters to life and the casting was perfect! Hearing an audience reaction is so foreign to an un-produced screenplay writer. It was an exhilarating feeling to hear the laughs and especially the gasps at the end."

Seattle Cold Readers provides audiences with unique experimental theatre and great entertainment experiences.

The Seattle Cold Readers perform every third Thursday (the next performance is September 17th) from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Spitfire Bar and Grill, 2219 4th Avenue. Admission is only $6.
