The Broward County Natural Resources Planning and Management Division, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are offering a workshop on "Sea Turtles and Lights" on Monday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Jarvis Hall Town Commission Chambers, 4501 Ocean Drive, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, located north of Commercial Boulevard on the west side of A1A.

Representatives from the above-mentioned agencies will present information on endangered and threatened sea turtles and the impact of artificial lighting on Broward County beaches. Examples of sea turtle-friendly light fixtures will be available for inspection, and representatives from lighting manufacturers will also be present. Attendees will learn about types of lights that work best for sea turtles and people.
