Companies and politicians are using social media to build their brands. You can too. This workshop will provide interactive guidance for how to prepare and execute a social media strategy to create your own personal brand - and how to avoid having others create one for you. The session will also focus on how to use your personal brand to reach specific career objectives.

The workshop will be led by Lance Ignon, head of the San Francisco office of Sitrick And Company, one of the nation's most renowned strategic communications companies. Sitrick is known as the company to call when one's reputation or brand is under attack - and to restore a damaged reputation.

Lance will walk session participants through a step-by-step program to:
* Assess participants' current on-line profile
* Review social media tools that work & don't work for creating a personal brand
* Build the elements of a personal brand and how to communicate them
* Identify key audiences and the means to reach them through new and old media.

About the Speaker:
Lance Ignon serves as head of the firm's San Francisco/Bay Area office, where he has worked on a wide variety of cases involving crisis communications, litigation support, campaign support, restructurings, mergers and acquisitions and general reputation management. As a journalist, he served as a finance editor and reporter for Investor's Business Daily, a business reporter for the Los Angeles Times, a foreign correspondent for Bloomberg Business News and The Economist Group and as the founding editor of an award-winning business newspaper, The Business Press.
