Introducing the Start-up SIG, meeting on the third Monday of the month at SAP in Palo Alto, and all (not just founders) are welcome! We'll continue our focus on founders' issues: how to successfully navigate through the first year or two of a start-up. We'll feature founding CEOs and management teams talking about strategic business issues, with occasional industry experts who have broad experience with entrepreneurial topics.
We're thrilled to kick off this renaissance with the CEO and co-founder of one of the hottest start-ups around, serial entrepreneur Ken Leeder of RealTravel.
RealTravel's goal is to help you connect with fellow travelers and learn what a place is really like. Not just prices and number of stars, but the whole experience: the people, the culture, how to get around, how to avoid problems, as well as suggestions for itineraries, accommodations, dining and things to do. The site allows people to write journals, create their own ratings and maps, and connect to others with shared interests and experiences.
About the Presenter:
Ken is founder and CEO of RealTravel, a new travel information site that leverages blogging and social networking to provide a more personalized and informative experience to travel shoppers and a more effective venue for travel industry marketers than currently exists online. A seasoned entrepreneur, Ken brings two decades of experience to RealTravel. Prior to RealTravel, Ken founded Full Degree, a successful Product Information Management company that was acquired in 2004. Previous to Full Degree, Ken was head of business development at AdForce, a leading Internet ad serving company.
