A project manager requires schedules, work packages and risk identification. A business analyst hasn’t even begun the project yet and yet the project manager is requiring milestones? Trying to coordinate efforts between a business analyst and a project manager is sometimes like fitting a square peg in a round hole.

Both perspectives in this conflict are correct; planning is required yet discovery of requirements hasn’t begun. A requirements work plan (RWP) can be used to negotiate requirements elicitation plans and analysis models to reduce project risk and role conflict.

Her experience includes large, international development initiatives as well as large implementation projects at companies including Baan Co., Boeing Co., Fireman's Fund, and Autodesk.
