In 1946, Oakland had a citywide General Strike, initiated by the mostly-women retail clerks. This screening will show this segment, as well as other segments on related subjects such as the labor/civil rights coalition, the birth of the United Farm Workers, and the response of working people to the destruction of jobs and erosion of rights as a result of global corporate policies.
