About the filmmaker:
Andrés Livov‐Macklin was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied staging of opera at the
prestigious Colon Theatre and holds a fine arts degree from York University, Canada. A Place
Called Los Pereyra is Livov-Macklin’s first feature‐length film. He lives in Montreal.
A Place Called Los Pereyra examines charity from the perspective of children in a remote
community. Life in an isolated and impoverished village in Argentina is affected in unexpected
ways when wealthy teenage girls make their annual charitable visit.
