The Screen Café Season launches on Monday, 16 July at Riverside Theatres with a screening of the critically-acclaimed Australian Film Mad Bastards.

The film's director, Brendan Fletcher, and the producer will be present to open the film and speak at the Q&A. There will be post-screening nibbles/drinks and opportunities to network.

Australia is an ancient, primal land. Those who survive at its outer limits are harsh, compelling characters. This is their story. REAL PEOPLE with no acting experience play the lead roles. This brings a tremendous intimacy and freshness to the movie. Developed in close collaboration over many years with director Brendan Fletcher, the actors play characters based on their own lives. The stories are etched on their faces. Powerful. Moving. Bold.
