Joan, Angela, Gráinne and Marie are a self described pop-rock band of four fun, high-spirited, musically-obsessed sisters from Ireland. The quartet traveled to the United States to support Sinead O’Connor on a tour in 1997 and hasn’t left since. Screaming Orphans take their musical cues from the Beatles, R.E.M., Indigo Girls, Abba and traditional Irish music. With their mix of traditional and contemporary, they bring a sound comparable to the Bangles or the Cranberries.
