Scottish Flicker Group January Meetup January 26, 2008

Join us for another fun-filled, family friendly Flickr Meet! Visit the sign up thread on the Scottish Meet Ups homepage. The Scottish Meetup Group, who regularly meet together, are made up of of Scottish,Canadian, English, Norwegian, American and Dutch members - all are very welcome on our meets - if you live here or are visiting for a time, come along

Proposed itinerary is:

Saturday
Meet at the Castlegate at 11pm

have a look about maybe a peek at broad street and marshal before lunch at noon /12.30 at Archibald Simpson's one of the grand buildings at the castlegate tbc

After lunch make our way (Bus or walk) to
Brig O Balgownie
Walk through Seaton Park
To St Machar's Cathedral
Then Old Aberdeen and Kings Collage campus of Aberdeen University. which is over 500 years old

Back to the Castlegate and
walk to Fittie a lovely wee planned fishing village, now home to artists and surfers. as the sun goes down there will be aa chance to see the new round house in all it's glory , good for long exposure shots.

Then a walk along the beach promenade to one of the many cafe's for tea for those who are staying over

Evening : Into town to Aberdeens's Oldest Pub Ma Cameron's , from there a chance to do some night shots of landmarks including education, salvation and damnnation as we head to The Prince of Wales another old Aberdeen pub.

Sunday :
10.30am : Meet at the Winter Gardens in the Duthie Park Europe's largest glass covered garden a macro delight

Lunch : at the cafe there tbc

Afternoon: A trip round the North and South Deeside Roads taking in a Castle or two and maybe a recumbant stone circle
