Scottish Developers: The Agile Enterprise and Independent Software Vendors September 12, 2007

Technologist and speaker, Gary Short roles up and unroles his list of comparisions between strengths and weaknesses of the 'Agile' Development in the Enterprise and the ISVs. This session was very well received at DDD5.

Agile is all the rage at the moment, everyone wants in on the act; but agile software engineering is not the same across the enterprise and ISVs. In this talk we'll look at some of the different ways in which agile software engineering principles are applied in the enterprise and in ISVs; where it's easy, where it's hard, and how to make it just that little bit less painful for everyone.

Gary Short is a Microsoft Certified Applications Developer, currently employed in the role of Senior Software Developer at Charteris. He has 17 years industry experience in both desktop and web-enabled application development. Previously, he has worked for a number of blue-chip companies including Amex, IMS Health and Scottish & Southern Energy. His current interests include SCRUM and TDD.
