Tim Flannery: Here On Earth--Our global civilization is transforming Earth, making comprehension of our place in nature supremely important, says scientist Tim Flannery: Can we achieve sustainability, or are we suicidal? Flannery, author of The Weather Makers and the new Here on Earth, charts the history of life on our planet, concluding that while we have had disastrous effects on Earth's ecosystems, we now are uniquely equipped to explore our true relationship with the planet on which our biological, economic, and cultural futures depend.
