What caused the recent disasters in Japan? How do tsunamis form? How and why are Fukushima's nuclear reactors failing—and what are the implications for those living in surrounding areas? How susceptible are California’s nuclear power plants to similar natural disasters?

Exploratorium staff scientists and local experts will address questions such as these during an informal presentation from Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 in the McBean Theater. Science colloquiums are usually intended for staff only, but given the topic, this month's colloquium will also be open to the public. This event is included in the price of museum admission and is free to Members. Capacity is limited; seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
