Stuart Munson-McGee, professor of Chemical Engineering at New Mexico State University will present “The Science of Beer” at the Las Cruces Museum of Natural History in the Mesilla Valley Mall on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 5:30 pm at the monthly Science Café program.

What is the science behind one of humanities most widespread beverages? Brewed for centuries, it is found in almost every culture, past and present. But do you know the chemistry behind this popular beverage? Come to Science Café and learn the complex science that goes into brewing beer!

Science Café is presented by Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society in cooperation with the Las Cruces Museum of Natural History. Café discussions present explanations of current research to advance a greater public understanding and use of available science. Students and all those seeking greater knowledge of current science are encouraged to be at Science Café.
