Got questions? Ask them here. Sigma Xi and the Las Cruces Museum of Natural History bring you monthly round table discussions held at 5:30 pm at the museum. The topic for Science Café discussion on February 26 is “Microalgae, A New Mexico Renewable Energy Source”. Dr. Peter Lammers, Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, NMSU, will lead the discussion. Microalgae farms can potentially produce 100 times more oil per acre than any other crop. Join the discussion of research reports from algae producing facilities in our area. Dr Lammers will also review his collaborations with the Renewable Energy Office of Biomass Programs at the US DOE. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Free.
