Join us this Friday, September 29 for an evening with a hip-hop originator. Schoolly D is often credited as a pioneer of hardcore/gangsta rap in the ‘80s with his raw and explicit lyrics regarding street life, including classics such as “Saturday Night” and “Smoke Some Kill.” In his career he’s had the chance to work with KRS-One and Chuck D of Public Enemy as well as collaborating on soundtracks for Abel Ferrara films, such as King of New York. He currently does narration and composes music for Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Oh, and remember that vocal hook on Chemical Brothers’ “Block Rocking Beats?” That was Schoolly.

Do not sleep on this show!
