Scenic Byways Presentation, DC Dept. of Transportation January 24, 2006

Scenic Byways is a federally-sponsored program to select, recognize and preserve distinctive roads throughout the United States based on their archeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational and/or scenic qualities. DDOT completed a draft study to designate the Canal Road and Pennsylvania Avenue corridors as Scenic Byways in the District.

At the following open houses, DDOT will provide overviews of the Scenic Byway program and the draft recommendations from the first phase of DDOT Byway study. The public will be invited to comment on the draft recommendations and update information for the final document.
