Scenestars Presents: The Hereafter and Blair Combest August 9, 2008

John Elliott of The Hereafter was one of my favorite finds at the 2008 International Folk Alliance Showcase. Some dude named Cory Branan made me check him out.

Fans of "Grey's Anatomy" probably have heard a song from John Elliott and the Hereafter, because "Back Where I Was" was used on one of the episodes. Also, the song "Everyone Looks Different" was used on the Sci-Fi Channel show "Eureka." Elliott plays dreamy chamber pop along the lines of Matt Pond PA or Sufjan Stevens.

Of course, if you are from Memphis you know that Blair Combest is often referred to as one of the best singer/songwriters in the city.
