SAVING ICELAND Concert June 24, 2006

Iceland is being sold to heavy multinational industry for no gain to Iceland, involving numerous risks. Heavy industry is queueing up for cheap energy by using old polluting methods and free from paying Kyoto tax in this environmental paradise. If the existing plans are to be realised, 25% of Iceland will be a dam affected area and this region will be among the most polluted of Europe by 2020! Protest is growing in and outside Iceland. This summer an international protest camp is being organised by and for Icelandic families towards activists, working for the same end. Large music events and guided walks will be held in the beautiful area which is first on the list to be drowned in september.

Earlier in the evening of the event a documentary will be shown and there will be the possibility to ask questions about the whole issue and the camp.

Followed of course by Icelandic bands performing, DJ's and various crazy elements, hopefully with good weather outside.
