Join thousands of New England anti-war activists on Oct. 11th 2008 at noon on Boston Common for a rally with music, cultural performers, dance and speakers followed by a festive march to demand an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. October 11th marks the sixth anniversary of the decision by congress to approve the "Iraq War Resolution"
granting the Bush administration authorization to invade Iraq. There will be speakers such as Iraq Veterans Against the War, an Iraqi journalist, student activists and city councilor Chuck Turner, as well as musical performers spanning genres from folk to hip hop. There will be activities for families and children and anti-war marching bands from Somerville’s famous ‘Honk Fest’ will be joining the march. The vast majority of our fellow citizens oppose this war, join the millions that are demanding an end to the madness!
