Sarah Kaufman: the Nude Redefined February 15, 2011

This exhibition is by alumnae photographer Sarah Kaufman, HC 2003, who received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. Her most recent work in color is of male and female nudes photographed in their home environments at ease before or after work. The subjects in these photographs are not idealized. However, the full tonal range of light as it is recorded in each of the subjects living environments in either black and white or color suggests otherwise. These contemporary urban environments are as varied and interesting as are Kaufman's subjects.
