Mariachis, troubadours, singers and musicians will gather to honor Santa Cecilia, patron saint of music. The evening begins at 6pm with Las Mañanitas, a traditional Mexican birthday song, followed by a “mariachi mass” in which various mariachi bands unite onstage to pay tribute to Santa Cecilia, 8pm Mariachi concert and Fiesta. We are planning to go to this Wed night. If anyone is interested in joining us .. let me know. Parking is tough, I don't think it is too far from the subway -- but the blocks are long .. and it is part of a mass ... (which is not an issue for me but may be for some) On the other hand, the music is GREAT the acoustics are amazing, and the evening is festive and celebratory (hard to feel down when Mariachis are singing).
