Celebrate Independence Day with one of the biggest celebrations in the valley happening in Sandy at the beautiful grassy South Towne Promenade located between Sandy City Hall and the South Towne Center at 10000 South and 175 west. The day starts at 7:00am with the 5k Fun Run, and the nationally sanctioned 10k Sandy Classic winding their way through town. Sign up early with Sandy Parks and Recreation at 568-2900 or online at http://sandy.utah.gov. The festivities begin at 10:00am with a flag raising ceremony followed by the midway opening with the Youth Arts Festival, rides, games, a variety of food and vendor booths and family safety demonstrations. The Community Entertainment Stage is packed throughout the day with local entertainment featuring the Radio Disney Dancers at 10:00am and The Air National Guard Band of the West Coast performing from 12:00-1:00pm. At 6:00pm bring the entire family down to enjoy the South Valley's only evening parade complete with floats, bands, celebrities and other surprises. This year's theme is 'Leading the Way into the Future'. At 7:30pm, the evening concert begins with great entertainment and then at 10:00pm the annual grand Sky Concert fireworks display will cap off the day's events with thousands of fireworks lighting up the evening sky, with music simulcast on The Cowboy KSOP 104.3
