8th Annual San Francisco Small Business Week (www.sfsmallbusinessweek.com) takes place May 14-20, 2012. SF Small Business Week consists of a week-long program of recognition, education, and networking for the small business community. This year's celebration, "Saluting the Heroes of Our Economy," includes more than 50 seminars at the Small Business Conference on Wed., May 16th.

The Gala Kick-Off event, Flavors of San Francisco, will feature more than 30 local restaurants and a wide range of small business resource providers on Mon., May 14th.

The Kick-Off event is one of the largest small business networking events in San Francisco. $10 Admission.

* Board of Supervisors Small Business Award Ceremony, Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 3:30pm - City Hall.
SF Small Business Commission, Mayor Ed Lee, and San Francisco Board of Supervisors honor an exceptional small business from each of San Francisco's 11 districts and citywide.

* San Francisco Small Business Conference, Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 8am-5pm - SFSU Downtown Campus.
Annual Small Business Conference will offer more than 50 free workshops for small business owners. Free Admission.

* MEGA Make Contact LGBT Mixer, Thursday, May 17 - SF LGBT Center.
An evening celebrating the impact of the LGBT business movement! Mingle with members of one of the premier networking groups in the San Francisco Bay Area. Free Admission.

* SFEDA & San Francisco Small Business Week Mixer, Friday, May 18, - 5:30PM - 7:30PM, Boothby Center.
Hosted by San Francisco Economic Development Alliance (SFEDA), a collaboration of nonprofit organizations that provide training, funding and ongoing support for small businesses.

Presented by SF Small Business Commission, U.S. Small Business Administration, and Wells Fargo Bank.
