The SF Improv Fest’s 2010 season is focused on the seminal role San Francisco and the Bay Area played in the formation of modern improvisational theater. The festival begins at the beginning—for SF improv, anyway—with a retrospective on legendary San Francisco comedy group, The Committee, with original cast members and archive material featured in this rare gathering.
Also featured is an exciting lineup of local and out of town comedy talent. From local rising stars like Norfleet Lawler and Gray, PianoFight, and Un-Scripted Theater Company, to visiting headliners like Uncle’s Brother (featuring Saturday Night Live’s Tim Meadows) and Amsterdam’s Men: A User’s Guide, the ten-day celebration of improv and sketch comedy will have a decidedly local bias, as re-imagined by its creators, veterans of the local San Francisco comedy and theater scenes (as well as national and international stages).
