San Francisco Girls Chorus open season with “Magic Strings” October 20, 2006

Treble voices and stringed instruments make ethereal music together. Come hear the Chorus with the Chinese pipa, accompanied by period instruments in rich Venetian Baroque music, and in a lush string quartet setting of Faure's Ave verum and Eric Whitacre's Five Hebrew Songs. This magical program will also include newly commissioned arrangements of American folk songs accompanied by country fiddle.
