San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival Auditions January 8, 2011

Bay Area audiences will experience the liveliest and most diverse four days of dance in town this January when more than 130 Northern California companies representing dance traditions from all over the world perform over four days in hopes of securing a coveted performance opportunity in the 2011 San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival in the summer of 2011. Artists have up 10 minutes to present their very best work, in full costume and many with live musical accompaniment. The Auditions offer the public a rare opportunity to see approximately 35 performances each day that span the globe, ranging from an Argentine tango to a Yup'ik Eskimo piece, from Hawaiian hulas to Egyptian belly dances, from a Congolese mask dance to Korean drum dances, and much, much more. Anyone can watch the Auditions for only $10 a day, and children 12 & under are admitted for free! So, grab a friend and make it a marathon, or bring the little ones for just an hour, but don't miss the world of dance right here in the Bay Area this January-and for an unbelievably low ticket price!
