Laurel Street and San Carlos Avenue
San Carlos, California 94070

One of the Peninsula's premier fall festivals, the San Carlos Art & Wine Faire, celebrates its 19th year on October 10 and 11, 2009. Sponsored by the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce, this not-to-be-missed event takes place in the heart of downtown San Carlos within a five-block area, along both sides of San Carlos Avenue and down Laurel Street from San Carlos Avenue to Arroyo.

The San Carlos Art & Wine Faire is a spectacular outdoor event that provides activities and fun for the entire family, with live music, arts and crafts booths, gourmet specialty items, and a Family Fun Zone for kids. This year’s event will have two stages – one on the north end of Laurel Street and one at Laurel Street Park – featuring live music from bands including Caravanserai, the Santana Tribute band, playing on the downtown stage Saturday, October 10th from 2:30-5:30 p.m.

Nearly 300 high-quality hand-picked artists will showcase their beautiful work for Faire-goers including a wide range of ceramics, pottery, watercolor, oil paintings, photography, wood working, jewelry and much more. The Family Fun Zone offers art-related activities for children ranging from pumpkin and face painting to dress-up costumes and wacky hair. Have your portrait done by a professional caricaturist! The Radio Disney Road Crew will also be on hand Sunday with performances and prize give-aways.

At this year’s “Gourmet Alley”, vendors will offer such specialty food items as dipping oils, spices, gourmet mustards, wine jellies, infused vinegars, grilling sauces, gourmet nuts, designer brownies, marshmallow pops and much more. Beer and wine tasting will be offered by Domenico’s, Kunde, Niebaum Coppola and Perelli-Minetti plus the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, offering varieties of beer and ale. Also part of the San Carlos Art & Wine Faire, 20 international food booths will offer everything from papusa to Thai chicken, Hawaiian pork, funnel cakes, gyros and tamales.

The San Carlos Art & Wine Faire takes place from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days. Because parking in downtown San Carlos is at a premium during the Faire, the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce encourages Faire attendees to use public transportation such as SamTrans or CalTrain or to ride bicycles to the event. A convenient Bike Parking Corral is available at 1250 San Carlos Avenue to store your bike.
