Fenian Street
Dublin, Dublin

How will you dress to the Fancy Dress Party?
Scary? Cute? Sexy? Weird? Extravagant? Cheap? Time-consuming? Something
you threw together in five minutes?

In any case you'll fit right in at the Samhain/Hallowe'en Fancy Dress
Party, Oct 21, The Ginger Man, Fenian Street. Cover charge €10. All
proceeds will go to Féile Draíochta.

See in the Celtic New Year dressed ridiculously.

Predictively asked questions:

Q: Will there be food?
A: Yes.

Q: Does that cater for vegetarians?
A: Some of the food will be vegetarian. If you're strict about keeping
things cooked separately, you probably won't want to eat it though. We
will also have some traditional barmbrack, and *that* will be vegetarian.

Q: Will it be healthy?
A: Hell no, this is a party. Leave the diet until the next day.

Q: Will there be prizes?
A: Yes, as part of the fun and games there will be some prizes for best
costumes, but do focus on having a laugh - it's not a competition per se.

Q: Can I just go in my normal clothes?
A: Last year someone went in their normal clothes, but he's a Druid so
his definition of "normal clothes" may not match everyones. Indeed he
won one of the prizes for best costume.
We won't refuse you entry if you aren't in costume, but as the only
person not in costume you'll feel sillier than if you dressed up.

Q: Just how daring can I be? / Just how timid can I be?
A: There are rules about what you are allowed to wear in a licensed
venue. Aside for that, if you can pull it off, go for it. On the other
hand if you aren't the extravert type a simple costume will be fine.
Last year's attendees varied considerably in terms of how they dressed up.

Q: Last year? You did this before?
A: Yes, and a great time was had by all.
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=299312 is one record of
the event.

Q: I was there last year. Do you remember promising never, ever to mosh
in a short skirt again?
A: Yes I do. I promise. If nothing else, I'm just not fit enough for
that sort of thing these days.

Q: Tickets, or pay at the door?
A: You'll definitely be able to pay in at the door. Hopefully we'll be
able to arrange some advance ticket sales also, but that has yet to be
arranged. If you can then please do buy them in advance as that means
I've the money to pay for the food, late license and other sundries in
advance rather than out of my own pocket.
