Dancing with the Queers
Sundays at Lake Merritt Dance Center
Same-sex International Ballroom & Latin

10am - 11:30 Advanced International Standard Ballroom with the graceful and talented 2002 Gay Games medallist Alise Halbert.

11:30 - 1 pm Beginning International Standard Ballroom - This is a three month class where you will learn a routine in Waltz, Tango and Quickstep and be able to take it out on the dance floor, whether to compete or for social dancing.

1 - 2pm Intermediate International Standard Ballroom - Each month we will work on a different dance. Prerequisite: 6 months or permission of instructors.

Beginning and Intermediate Standard classes taught by 2006 Gay Games medallists and current 2007 US Women's Standard Champions Zoe Balfour and Citabria Phillips.

No partner necessary.
The classes rotate partners.
No experience necessary for beginning class.
All welcome as long as they are comfortable dancing with partners of any gender.

Cost:
Beginning class: $18 per class or $60 for four weeks when paid on the first day of class.
Intermediate class: $12 per class or $40 for four weeks when paid on the first day of class.
No refunds are given for missed classes.

Please note: The classes are designed to build on the previous week's material. While we generally review what we did in the last class, should you have to miss a class, please make an effort to catch up either by asking a fellow classmate to go over it with you or by taking a private lesson. Unless you are familiar with the material, please no drop-ins except on the first day of class.
