Winner of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for best newcomer of 2010, startlingly perceptive young singer and guitarist Sam Carter has spent the last few years honing his craft both as a writer and performer, studying guitar with Martin Simpson and touring with Bellowhead whilst holding down his post as Emerging Artist in Residence at London’s Southbank Centre.

His debut album Keepsakes was released in 2009 and since then he has performed at major festivals, national radio sessions and toured throughout the UK and is another star of the startling The Lady: A Homage to Sandy Denny show.
