Dr. Rock & Latin Rock Inc. present Salvador Santana & Band, plus Kemaya and Blanca at Fulton 55 in Fresno on December 8th. Music is a burst of choices and Salvador Santana, the 28-year-old keyboardist, vocalist, composer, and songwriter with strong roots, knows what it means to navigate the infinite options of music. Salvador's maternal grandfather was African-American blues pioneer, tenor and guitar legend Saunders King, his paternal grandfather is celebrated violinist and mariachi bandleader Jose Santana, and his father is 10X GRAMMY winner Carlos Santana.

SALVADOR SANTANA & BAND
Keyboardist and composer Salvador Santana’s vibrant music mixes hip-hop, jazz, rock, Latin and other world idioms into a uniquely individual and totally contemporary style. His 2008 project with the Salvador Santana Band–simply called SSB–pursued the scope of his ability. But for Santana, it wasn’t enough. Now he returns to the Bay Area in December with a new band, including Jared Meeker on guitar/vocals, Blake Collie on drums, Itai Shapira on bass, and new vocalist/keyboardist Alex Nester, who was chosen following an extensive 2 month search.

Collaboration has always been the centerpiece of his creations, and this passion manifested his solo debut “Keyboard City” around the inspirations of a few legends: Bay Area MC/producer Del the Funky Homosapien who helped hone in Santana’s writing skills, Beastie Boy studio wizard Money Mark, and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. Santana also just released a new single, "MiTesoro", which will be featured at the shows, along with selections from “Keyboard City" and previous works.

Music truly thrives in Salvador Santana's veins. His maternal grandfather was blues pioneer Saunders King and his paternal grandfather was the internationally celebrated violinist and mariachi bandleader Jose Santana. And, of course, his father is 10X Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana…who’s also a frequent collaborator (Salvador co-wrote “El Farol” from 1999’s smash album Supernatural). And with this current tour, Salvador Santana has truly become a brand of his own.

Latin rhythms, powerful horns and vocals combined with non-stop dancing are what you can expect from a Kemaya performance. Under the direction of conguero Richard Juarez, Kemaya has some of the most talented and well-respected musicians in the Central San Joaquin Valley. The band tastefully adds elements of Funk, R&B and Rock while keeping true to their Salsa Dura roots. The music of Kemaya projects a burst of Latin flavor that compels you to join the irresistible pulse of 2-3 Clave. BLANCA
With a soulful voice and lyrics from the heart, singer songwriter Blanca Sandoval has captivated audiences. By means of an unrivaled sound that blends together her Latin musical roots with rock, funk, jazz, and up beat ballads, her style is extremely diverse. Known as "The Sweetheart of Latin Rock, Inc", Blanca recently brought together some very talented musicians to form the band "BLANCA" which includes Robert Zamora (lead guitar), Mike Juarez (drums) and Oscar Tablada (bass). The new four/piece band has been pulling in their own audience and recruiting new fans everywhere they play.
