Come celebrate recent trends in jazz and contemporary improvisational music as Val Jeanty (turtablist) and Daniel Moreno (percussion) lay down modern grooves. Jeanty, known as "Val Inc.," combines acoustics with electronics to incorporate her African Haitian musical traditions and roots into a futuristic melange of tribal beats, spirit voices, and otherworldy sounds. Her "Afro-Electronica" installations have been showcased at the Whitney, MoMA, BAM, and numerous international forums including the Venice Biennale. Percussionist Daniel Moreno has performed globally with a who's who of jazz greats, with much of his time abroad spent in Brazil and Africa. Here he assembles and performs an open danceable groove with top jazz musicians working sweet, delicious melodies in and out of the percussive profusion.
