Back as part of France-Atlanta 2012, Pierre Rigal returns with a new work, Standards, a bold statement on human assimilation into codes of behavior. The piece will challenge, confound, and delight audiences with gravity and nonsense, with melancholy and humor, and with paradox and theatricality, all through the physical vocabulary of hip-hop. Rigal, a true Renaissance man, has a background in athletics, mathematics, economics, and film. His interest in the interplay of dance with technology shapes his totally unique choreographic voice.
