Sagewood, a retirement community featuring resort-like amenities is providing a free event on learning how to cook for a healthy lifestyle for today’s seniors from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.

Sagewood’s Director of Food and Beverage Greg Hanson will be making a presentation on healthy diet and nutrition for seniors, gluten-free cooking and creating favorite dishes for a healthy menu.

Attendees to the Nov. 1 event will receive a free copy of the book, The New Mayo Clinic Cookbook featuring 200 recipes including James Beard award-winning recipes for discovering elegantly simple ideas for healthy eating and entertaining.

The healthy cooking event will also include a cocktail hour and menu sampling from Sagewood’s Executive Chef Richard Reilly who has an extensive background in resort dining and more than 15 years in the culinary field.

Sagewood residents benefit from a “Preferred Choice Dining” program that allows residents to choose where and when they enjoy formal and casual dining options including an on-campus formal restaurant, bistro café, cocktail lounge or carry-out meals created by Executive Chef Reilly.
