Wednesday 30 April at 7.30pm
One performance only

Riverside Theatres, in association Musica Viva Australia, proudly presents the internationally renowned classical guitarist trio SAFFIRE at Riverside Theatres on Wednesday 30 April at 7.30pm for one performance only.

Saffire is comprised of three of Australia’s top classical guitarists – Karin Schaupp, Slava Grigoryan and Leonard Grigoryan. Since they emerged on the music scene in 2002, Saffire have been delighting audiences with a repertoire which ranges from Renaissance, rock, flamenco, Celtic and jazz to original compositions.

Known internationally for their dynamic solo performances, together as Saffire they are an ARIA-winning combination generating an eclectic tapestry of sound colour, rhythm and energy. Performing on a selection of instruments which include dobrom steel string, eight string, flamenco, classical and baritone guitars their music is a passionate, innovative and irresistibly joyful experience.

In 2008 Saffire commenced an exciting schedule of international touring and recording, including a tour to the US with a recital at the prestigious Spivey Hall in Atlanta. Saffire will also record Rodrigo's beautiful Concierto Andaluz with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

“The synchronicity of Saffire's ensemble work is awe-inspiring”- The Age
