Ryan was bitten by the acting bug at a very young age. That bug was carrying a virus that caused his glands to swell, cutting of blood supply to the hormone that provides normal people with the capability to do productive things in society. Faced with few future career options and the need to avoid having the crap beaten out of him, he turned to the arts. It began innocently - dressing up in silly costumes and doing lip-sync performances. When Ryan told his parents that he wanted to pursue comedy as a career, his mother (an actress) and father (actor and playwrite) reacted lovingly: “Who is going to pay for us to retire when the time comes?” Ryan then told his parents not to worry. Maybe Jason (his brother) might still turn out to become an accountant or doctor. Just then Jason walked in and said that he was going to school to be a writer. The parents cried and blamed Ryan. Now, years later Ryan is a working actor and touring comedian. And every time he tells a joke, or his brother writes a book, his parents cry, but this time out of pride. Or at least that’s what Ryan tells himself. You’ve seen this comedian on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” “The Late Late Show w/ Kilborn,” Comedy NOW!, “Just For Laughs,” and he won a Canadian Comedy Award from the Comedy Channel for his outstanding Stand-up! Don’t miss the Ann Arbor comedy debut this week of this fast rising star!!!
