On a recent tour of Dubai, Russell Peters crashed online outlets as soon as his tickets went on sale, with a selling rate of one ticket every two seconds. In 2005, he became the first South Asian to sell out the Apollo Theatre in New York and in 2008 he became one of a few comedians to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden. Much of Russell’s humor derives from his observations on the subjects of race, class and culture and his ability to impersonate countless languages and accents to create a bond with his audiences, regardless of their racial and cultural backgrounds. With over 20 million YouTube views and 10,000 daily hits to his website, Russell certainly is a new comic sensation. In 2009, he released his most recent DVD, Red, White and Brown.
