In Running Sushi, dancers Stephanie Cumming and Johnny Schoofs perform on a stage-cum-platter with chopstick-wielding high jumping, in a witty comment on contemporary life. With 12 dance dishes served up like a sushi menu, and performed in an order chosen by audience members who pick sushi off a plate, the audience creates a new storyboard each evening.

“Full to the brim with hinted comments about contemporary life. It was tasty, most witty, and rather humorous.” The Jerusalem Post

A co-production of ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival and Liquid Loft in co-operation with Choreographic Center Linz and TanzIst Festival Dornbirn. With support of MA7 – Kultur Stadt Wien and Bundesministerium für Unterricht und Kunst.

Founded in 2005 by choreographer Chris Haring, together with musician Andreas Berger, dancer Stephanie Cumming and dramaturgue Thomas Jelinek, Liquid Loft constantly interconnect performances and installation in contemporary dance directly with other forms of contemporary art, in order to create a cohesive all-embracing piece of art. Their idiosyncratic visual and formal language, their distinctive acoustic stage-sets and professional dance production earned Liquid Loft international recognition and awards like the Golden Lion for ‘best performance’ at the 2007 Biennale in Venice.
