The most unusual run in Golden Gate Park is back! The 23rd annual Run Wild 5K/10K, hosted by the California Academy of Sciences, is the only race where herds of costumed cows, chickens, squid, cavemen, and other wild things compete side-by-side with serious athletes in a beautiful jaunt through Golden Gate Park. The race takes place on Sunday, November 25 at 8:30 am, beginning at JFK Drive and 8th Avenue.

The living roof and completed exterior of the new Academy will provide a stunning backdrop for the day's events. An information tent will be available for those who want to learn more and get involved with the new building, which opens to the public in Fall, 2008. Race fees will support Academy research and education programs. The race event will include:

- A wild and crazy costume contest in the 5K — with cash and prizes
- A long-sleeve 100% cotton official race t-shirt
- Free refreshments & goodie bags for all registered finishers
- A Post-Race Party held at the Music Concourse
- Free entry to the California Academy of Sciences
