Saturday, October 7, 2006, 4:30 pm, Freer steps (rain location: Meyer Auditorium)
One of New York's most innovative jazz artists returns to the Freer with his unique blend of South Asian and Western improvisation. For the past four years Downbeat magazine's International Critics Poll has named quartet leader Rudresh Mahanthappa a "rising star" on alto saxophone. Joining him in the quartet are pianist Vijay Iyer, Francois Moutini on acoustic bass, and Dan Weiss on drums. Part of From Sunrise to Moonrise: A Centennial Celebration.

In case of rain, tickets will be distributed one hour before showtime at the Meyer Auditorium on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit two per person.
