Philippe Herreweghe
Philippe, Knight Herreweghe (Born May 2, 1947) is a Belgian conductor.
Heis principally known as a conductor of Johann Sebastian Bach, theGerman composer who wrote over one thousand works. He is regarded byleading Bach scholars today as a founding father of the baroqueauthentic practice, original instrument movement and one of recordlabel Harmonia Mundi's most prolific recording artists, with over sixtyalbums to his name.

Asa guest conductor, Philippe Herreweghe has conducted a number of wellknown orchestras including the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam,the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the DutchBroadcasting Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Berlinand Vienna Philharmonic, and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic. PhilippeHerreweghe was artistic director of the Festival of Saintes in 1982 andvoted European Musician of the Year in 1990. Since 1998, he is artisticdirector of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.

Lise de la Salle
Still in her teens, pianist Lise de la Sallewon the Young Concert Artists International Audition 2004 and hasplayed debut recitals under the auspices of Young Concert Artists inboth New York and Washington. This season, she plays recitals in prestigious venues in Vancouver and Atlanta.She has already made two recordings on the excellent Na?ve label: oneof works by Rachmaninov and Ravel, the other of works by Bach andLiszt. The latter recording won Gramophone’s Recordings of the MonthAward in the summer of 2005. Her Middlebury program includes Mozart andProkofiev. “The exhilaration didn’t let up for a second until her handscame off the keyboard.”—Washington Post.
