RoxVote Forum with District 7 City Council Candidates October 21, 2009

RoxVOTE 2009, a non-partisan coalition of Roxbury community organizations, resident associations, and others united around the desire to increase voter participation in Roxbury, is holding a District 7 City Council Candidates’ Forum on Wednesday, October 21st from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hibernia Hall, 184 Dudley Street, Roxbury. This event is one of the only public forums for residents to hear the positions of the candidates for District 7 City Council.The focus of this evening is to share with Roxbury residents views from the two candidates running for the District 7 City Council seat, Chuck Turner and Carlos “Tony” Henriquez. The Coalition has developed an issues list based on a widely distributed survey to ensure that Roxbury residents were able to provide input on what they think the key Roxbury-wide issues are. Topics to be covered at the forum include: affordable housing, basic city services, public safety, youth opportunities, transportation, and education.
