Come see the waterfront National Historical Park commemorating Rosie the Riveter and WW2 Home Front.

The park is dispersed over several locations along the Richmond Marina and waterfront-- you can take a waterfront walking tour and a greater area driving tour.

With such a high wander factor, here are two times and places to meet up....

12:30pm at the Rosie the Riveter Memorial

Take a 2:00 p.m. tour aboard the restored SS Red Oak Victory Ship at Kaiser Shipyard No.3. (You'll have to drive from the Rosie memorial to the SS Red Oak.)
Tour admission/donation: $5 adults/ $4 seniors / $2 children.
Please please please RSVP if you plan to take the tour. Tours are conducted by volunteer docents; if the group size is larger than 10, they want to add another docent for our group. I would like to get a headcount ahead of time (Friday), so that I can tell them what to expect.

This event is geared toward people in the Bay Area who are interested in the fields and/or technology of personal history, oral history, digital storytelling, digital scrapbooking, etc....
or
who have an interest in local history (who knew there was a National Park on the Richmond shoreline? I didn't!)...
or
who are attending the Oral History Association's annual meeting in Oakland. (this outing is timed to coincide with the OHA meeting, but is not sponsored by or in any way affiliated with OHA)
