Bringing together some bright lights from the West Coast bluegrass pantheon, RoseBud Blue offers top-notch traditional bluegrass music in the style of Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers, and Jimmy Martin. If you caught them at this summer's Grass Valley festival, you already know: this band is hot! Join them tonight for a CD release party celebrating their new album, Depending on the Glass. (The festivities include an Ipod shuffle door prize! Woo-hoo!)

Bandleaders, and mighty powerful vocalists, Jenny Lynn Williams and Angela Personeni provide guitar and string bass, respectively. Jenny, no stranger to the Freight stage, herself, is the third generation Williams to make a mark in the bluegrass field—her grandfather, the late Vern Williams, and her father, Del Williams, are both among the Freight's all-time favorite players. Rounding out the vocal trio and providing hard-core mandolin riffs is Matt Dudman, while banjo picker extraordinaire (and alleged ladies' man) Josh "Banjo Boy" Tharp brings in the driving licks. This core group is joined tonight by the inimitable Ed Neff on fiddle. Together the members create a unique, driving sound that moves smoothly between traditional numbers and originals, tied together with their shared love and zeal for the music.
